Upul has everything you could want in a tour guide: unrivalled attentiveness for his guests, incredible local knowledge, and a passion for the beautiful country that he is proud to call home.  

 

Starting his working life as a swimming instructor at a local school, Upul enrolled on a professional chauffeur course with the Sri Lankan tourist board in 2009, with the dream of revealing the secrets of Sri Lanka to those who are lucky enough to visit. 

 

Since then, he has been proud to show hundreds of visitors the hidden treasures of this island through his private, tailored tour experiences. Past guests have had the chance to immerse themselves in the local culture, hike in scenery like nowhere else on earth, and drink in the rich natural diversity (including chance encounters with leopards and elephants) in the national parks. 

 

Upul’s guests have been able to create these lifelong memories while remaining safe in the knowledge that they have a reliable, trustworthy, street-smart guide by their side the entire time. 

 

Upul drives a spacious and comfortable air-conditioned saloon car which makes travelling around a breeze. For larger groups, vans and minibuses can be arranged. 

 

When he's not driving and exploring with tourists, Upul likes to visit his local beach in Negombo or explore nearby waterfalls with his wife and two sons.
